As of April 15, 2008, Point Four Systems Inc. (www.pointfour.com) will be the exclusive sales, service, and distributing agent for Common Sensing Inc. products. Common Sensing Inc., through Point Four Systems Inc., will continue to provide assistance and/or consultation with our customers concerning TDGP measurement and use of existing CSI instruments. Common Sensing Inc. is the original developer of electronic instrumentation for measurement and continuous monitoring of Total Dissolved Gas Pressure (TDGP) or the parameter PT, which represents the sum of the partial pressures of all gases dissolved in a solvent including the vapor pressure of the solvent. Most current applications involve measurements in water but the direct measurement technique is applicable to all liquids with the only consideration being the chemical compatibility of the membrane used with the solvent to be measured. Our TBO-series of instruments provide eight (8) parameters including the Barometric pressure, PT, Temperature, pO2, % Saturation of TDGP (relative to Barometric pressure) and % Saturation of Oxygen (relative to Air pO2). Any pumped and/or groundwater system can become supersaturated, resulting in mortality and stress to fish and aquatic life. Federal agencies, aquaculture and wastewater treatment activities use this equipment for water quality monitoring in fisheries, aquaculture and in the laboratory. Consulting services are also available. Prices range from $895 for the the SM-1 -designed for the aquaculturist who only needs to check levels now and then to $3,950.00 for the TBO-DL6 series, designed for intensive aquaculture, environmental monitoring and wastewater management. These instruments feature microprocessor control with logging and alarm capability, and can support two separate three-sensor probes, making them ideal for troubleshooting new or unreliable water systems to isolate sources of supersaturation. The SM-1 provides a readout of % Saturation TDGP (relative to Barometric pressure), runs from 9 Volt battery, and sells for under $895. Intended for portability and convenience, it involves a single sensor probe, minimal electronics, a large display - readable from 30 feet, and is easily maintained and serviced by the user. Any length of cable is possible allowing flexibility for portable or permanent installations. All pressurized water systems can become supersaturated with dissolved gasses resulting in mortality and stress to fish and aquatic life. The measurement of TDGP is one of the most simple and informative measurements because measuring of dissolved oxygen alone leaves open the potential hazard of undetected supersaturation. |
